Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026. This policy covers the InstantClicks browser extension and instantclicks.net. InstantClicks operates the service. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or data requests.
What we handle and why
- Account and authentication information. Your email, account identifier, password hash, verification records, and session records are used to create and secure your account. Passwords are checked by the server and stored as salted hashes. After email verification, you can remember this browser using a protected, account-specific cookie. The server stores only its token hash. Remembered browsers expire after 180 days without a successful password sign-in; signing in renews that period. Normal sign-out keeps this preference. Forget this browser, sign out everywhere, or change or reset your password to revoke it. The cookie does not contain your email code or password. The extension stores an account connection token in its own browser storage; it does not receive your InstantClicks password.
- Classroom questions and images. After you agree to processing and start watching your selected iClicker tab, the extension reads question text and answer choices. For questions containing images, it captures the question area. This content is sent through InstantClicks to OpenAI for AI answers. Answers use Fast mode without web search. Captured content may include information visible within that question area.
- Answers and activity. The extension keeps the last 50 attempts, including question content, answers, timestamps, and submission outcomes, in this browser. Older captured images may be removed to limit storage. The server keeps usage counts, timestamps, request identifiers, content fingerprints, and token usage to enforce allowances and operate the service. Question text, screenshots, and answer text are not written to the account database; active requests and results are held in server memory until cleared or the service restarts.
- Location information. Named coordinates, accuracy settings, and location preferences are stored in this browser. When you enable an override, Chrome supplies that location to the watched iClicker tab through its location API. Checking page location reads the location reported to that page. These coordinates are not part of the InstantClicks AI request. Selecting a location does not change your account’s IP address.
- Browser and connection information. The extension uses the selected iClicker tab’s URL and title to select the correct tab and show its status. It does not collect general browsing history. The website and its network providers process connection details such as IP addresses for HTTPS delivery, security, and abuse prevention. InstantClicks stores account-specific IP hashes for its one-active-connection rule and hashed rate-limit keys.
- Billing and support. Stripe handles checkout and card or bank details. InstantClicks stores Stripe customer/payment identifiers, plan status, amounts, and payment events to manage access. If you email support, we receive the details and attachments you send.
Services that process information
We share information needed to run the features you request:
- OpenAI: question text, choices, and question-area images for Fast answers without web search. Requests use the API’s storage-disabled setting. OpenAI’s own security, abuse-monitoring, and retention practices still apply. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.
- Stripe: checkout, subscriptions, billing records, and customer portal. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Resend: email addresses and authentication messages for verification, sign-in, and password recovery. See Resend’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: HTTPS traffic and connection metadata to route and protect the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- iClicker: your browser’s page actions, submitted answers, and any location you choose to provide are handled by that service under its own policies. InstantClicks is independent of iClicker.
InstantClicks does not sell user data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. Data use and transfers are limited to providing and securing the features described here, responding to your requests, and meeting applicable legal obligations. The extension has no advertising or third-party analytics scripts.
Your controls
- Choose Turn off to stop watching. Hiding the helper with Left Alt only minimizes it and does not stop processing.
- Use Settings → Answer history → Clear history in the helper to clear saved attempts. Signing out also clears answer history and the extension’s connection token.
- Choose No override in Location to stop applying saved coordinates. Use Delete preset to remove a named location.
- Revoke iClicker site access or remove the extension through your browser’s extension settings. Removing the extension clears its local storage but does not cancel a paid subscription or delete your server account.
- Use the account website to manage your plan or change your password. Email [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of server account data. We may verify account ownership before acting.
Storage, retention, and security
The early-access account service currently runs on the operator’s Windows PC. Server account storage and backups are encrypted, access is restricted, and public traffic uses HTTPS. Extension data is kept in the local browser profile and protected by that browser and your operating system; InstantClicks does not add a separate encryption layer to browser storage.
Account, billing, usage, and security records are retained while needed to provide the account, resolve payment issues, or meet applicable obligations. There is not yet an automatic fixed retention schedule for all records or backups. Backups are retained until manually removed, so deleted records may remain in protected backup copies. Provider-held records follow each provider’s policies. We do not promise immediate deletion of all historical copies.
We update this page when our practices change. Material changes to question processing will be explained in the product before requesting any new consent.
